Field Service Technician
Job description
This full time opportunity is for a Field Service Technician at a custom machine manufacturer. Oberlin Filter is looking for a dynamic person with strong mechanical and electrical skills to join our team of field service technicians to perform start-ups, customer training, and maintenance work on our custom filtration systems. Service trips typically last 2-4 days instead of weeks or months. This person would also work in our facility doing electrical prep work and checkout for our systems.
The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:

Perform service at customer facilities in accordance with company policies and procedures

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems under varied conditions at customer locations

Set up, adjust, and operate test equipment to determine nature of problems

Make necessary travel arrangements in preparation of service trips

Calibrate and perform maintenance on equipment

Test equipment to ensure operation is in compliance with specifications

Act as a technical resource to customers

Prepare necessary reports upon completion of service trips

Assist production by working on the shop floor or other departments as needed
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:

Ability to work well independently

18 years old or older
-
Valid US driver's license and US Passport

Ability to pass background checks and random drug screens

At least two years of experience in an electrical and mechanical background

Ability to pass HUET certification and Gulf safety trainings

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and other employees

Prefer a candidate with a technical degree in a related mechanical or electrical field, but we will consider someone with a high school diploma and the right attitude and desire to learn

Pay Range: $23.00-$27.00 / Hour
